Abstract

Rural Nigeria faces significant challenges in accessing reliable energy sources, which are crucial for economic development and poverty alleviation. A systematic literature review was conducted to analyse existing policies and interventions related to rural energy access in Nigeria. The analysis revealed that renewable energy sources, particularly solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, have shown promising results with an adoption rate of 20% across targeted villages. Despite the encouraging findings, there is a need for robust policy support and community engagement to sustain these initiatives. Implementing subsidized renewable energy projects, enhancing institutional capacity, and fostering public-private partnerships are recommended strategies. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
