A Framework for Analysing Climate-Smart Agriculture Technologies Among Maize Farmers in Zimbabwe: A Theoretical Exploration of Adoption Rates and Performance

Abstract

Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) technologies are pivotal for enhancing agricultural productivity in response to climate change challenges. In Zimbabwe, maize farmers face significant environmental and economic pressures, necessitating a nuanced understanding of how these technologies can be effectively adopted. Theoretical exploration and literature review will be employed, drawing on existing studies and frameworks related to CSA technologies and agricultural practices in developing countries. While CSA technologies offer promising pathways for enhancing maize production resilience, their successful implementation requires targeted interventions addressing these identified challenges. Policy makers should prioritise education and extension services to improve farmers' understanding of CSA technologies. Additionally, financial support mechanisms must be established to facilitate access to necessary resources.
