Abstract

The academic landscape of South Sudan has seen significant changes since its independence in , with a growing number of universities contributing to knowledge production and dissemination. The analysis draws from existing literature and secondary data sources focused on university activities in South Sudan over a decade. African universities have played an indispensable role in shaping the knowledge landscape of South Sudan, particularly in addressing critical societal challenges such as environmental sustainability and educational access. Further investment in capacity-building programmes for university researchers and increased collaboration between institutions can enhance their impact on local development efforts.
