Youth Engagement in Senegalese Agribusiness and Food Systems: An Analysis

Abstract
Youth in Senegal are increasingly engaged in agribusiness and food systems as a means of livelihood diversification and poverty reduction. A mixed-methods approach involving quantitative surveys (\(N=300)\) and qualitative interviews (\(n=25)\). Youth participation in agribusiness is highest among those with secondary education (68%), with significant disparities by gender (42% female vs. 70% male engagement). The study highlights the need for targeted interventions to enhance youth access to resources and markets. Develop inclusive agribusiness training programmes and establish gender-sensitive market linkages. Youth, Senegal, Agribusiness, Food Systems, Engagement
