Abstract

Expanding clean water access is crucial for sustainable urban development in São Tomé and Príncipe's Mwanza region. However, technological innovations and their economic impacts remain underexplored. A mixed-method approach combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative interviews was employed to evaluate technological innovations and their socioeconomic impacts. The implementation of advanced filtration systems has led to a 20% reduction in water contamination, resulting in improved health outcomes among the population. Technological innovations have significantly enhanced clean water access, contributing positively to economic development by reducing healthcare costs and increasing productivity. Communities should be involved in decision-making processes regarding technological investments for sustainable long-term solutions. Government policies should incentivize such innovations through subsidies or grants.
