Abstract

Water scarcity is a significant challenge in Nigerian villages, where community-led initiatives have emerged as potential solutions. A qualitative study involving interviews with local communities and project coordinators across several villages in Nigeria. The analysis reveals that community engagement is crucial for successful water resource management projects, highlighting the need for continued support and policy alignment to scale these initiatives effectively. Policymakers should prioritise capacity building for local communities and ensure long-term funding mechanisms are in place to sustain these projects over time.
