Abstract

Afrofuturism is a contemporary cultural movement that explores visions of Africa's future through science fiction and speculative narratives. The study employs critical analysis of existing Afrofuturist literature on Somalia, focusing on speculative fiction and media representations. Themes such as technological advancement and environmental sustainability are prominent in contemporary Somali Afrofuturism, with a notable increase in discussions around renewable energy solutions. Afrofuturism offers valuable insights into the complex socio-economic landscape of Somalia by envisioning potential paths forward. Further research should explore how these visions can inform policy and development strategies for Somalia's future.
