Abstract

Historical Foundations of Governance in Sierra Leone A critical review of archival documents, literature reviews, and secondary data analysis to trace the historical evolution of governance structures in Sierra Leone. Significant colonial-era policies have shaped current governance frameworks, with a notable influence from British colonial administration on land tenure systems and public sector management. The interplay between historical legacies and contemporary challenges necessitates policy reforms that address systemic issues rooted in colonial-era structures. Policy reform should focus on redefining land rights frameworks, enhancing transparency in public procurement processes, and strengthening accountability mechanisms.
