Abstract

The study explores the evolution of philosophical thought in post-colonial Madagascar, a small island nation in the Indian Ocean. A comparative analysis will be conducted using historical documents, interviews with philosophers, and secondary sources to trace the evolution of thought over time. Themes such as community ethics and environmental stewardship are prominent in contemporary philosophical discourse, reflecting traditional values adapted to modern contexts. The study reveals a dynamic interplay between ancient Malagasy philosophies and new intellectual currents, highlighting the resilience and adaptability of local thought processes. Future research should consider incorporating more recent philosophical texts and digital archives for comprehensive analysis. Philosophy, Madagascar, Post-colonial Studies, Cultural Evolution
