Côte d'Ivoire's natural resource wealth has been a subject of political contention and economic exploitation. A mixed-methods approach combining policy documents analysis and semi-structured interviews to explore stakeholders' perspectives. The extractive industry is dominated by a few multinational corporations (MNCs) that wield significant influence over government policies, highlighting the asymmetry in power dynamics. Policy reforms are needed to ensure equitable distribution of resource wealth and promote sustainable development in Côte d'Ivoire’s post-coup context. Stakeholder engagement mechanisms should be strengthened, and transparency measures implemented to mitigate risks associated with natural resource exploitation.
