Abstract

Southern Malawi faces significant challenges in achieving food security due to climate variability, poverty, and limited access to modern energy sources. Theoretical analysis focusing on existing literature on renewable energy, agricultural practices, and food security indicators in Malawi. A theoretical framework is established that integrates renewable energy technologies with agricultural practices to support sustainable food security outcomes in Malawi. Investment in renewable energy micro-grids should be prioritised alongside targeted training programmes for farmers on efficient use of these technologies.
