Abstract

Historical Foundations of Governance in Kenya have significantly shaped contemporary political dynamics. A comparative study employing qualitative analysis to examine archival materials, oral histories, and secondary sources from various Kenyan regions. Findings indicate a pronounced trend towards regional inequalities in governance structures since the late colonial era, characterized by significant variations in land distribution and administrative efficacy across different parts of Kenya. The historical context has perpetuated disparities that continue to influence contemporary governance challenges in Kenya. Recommendation for policymakers includes revisiting historical legacies and integrating regional perspectives into current governance frameworks.
