Abstract
Digital preservation in West African cultural heritage is crucial for maintaining irreplaceable knowledge and traditions. A review of existing literature and expert consultations to identify successful models and challenges. Digital preservation efforts in West Africa have shown a significant increase in community engagement and technological adoption over the past five years. The reviewed strategies highlight the importance of collaboration between local communities, cultural institutions, and technology providers for effective digital preservation. Ethiopia should prioritise community involvement, invest in training programmes, and explore international partnerships to enhance its digital heritage management.
