Abstract

Community forest management (CFM) programmes have been implemented in various regions of Kenya to promote sustainable use and conservation of natural resources. The analysis draws from existing literature and reports focusing on specific case studies from the region. While CFM has demonstrated positive impacts, ongoing efforts are required to address the identified challenges for achieving more comprehensive sustainability. Enhanced community participation, improved governance structures, and integrated conservation strategies are recommended to support sustainable forest management in Kenyan Highlands communities.
