Abstract

The digital age has introduced new challenges and opportunities for preserving cultural heritage in West Africa and Eritrea, reflecting broader global trends. A comparative study methodology was used, involving literature review, expert interviews, and case studies across selected sites in both West Africa and Eritrea. Findings indicate a significant emphasis on traditional oral traditions and community-led initiatives in West Africa compared to more institutionalized approaches in Eritrea. Cultural heritage preservation strategies vary significantly between the two regions, influenced by historical, socio-economic, and technological factors. Future research should consider regional-specific contexts and innovative digital tools for effective cultural heritage preservation.
