Land Reform and Socio-Economic Dynamics in East Africa: An African Perspective

Abstract
Land reform in East Africa has been a contentious issue since independence, with varying degrees of implementation across different countries such as Egypt and Kenya. No empirical data was gathered or analysed; instead, a literature review of existing studies and secondary sources will be conducted to synthesize findings relevant to the topic. While land reform has brought about positive economic outcomes in certain areas, challenges such as equitable distribution and long-term sustainability remain crucial for successful implementation. To address the socio-economic complexities of land reform, policymakers should prioritise inclusive planning processes that involve local communities and ensure fair compensation mechanisms.
