Regional Blocs and Economic Integration in Somalia: A Comparative Analysis
Abstract
Regional economic blocs play a crucial role in shaping Africa’s integration process, with Somalia being an important case study due to its strategic location and historical context of instability. The analysis will draw from existing literature on regional blocs in Africa and incorporate qualitative insights from expert interviews conducted with local stakeholders and policymakers. The comparative study underscores the importance of tailored approaches for promoting economic integration in Somalia, considering both historical and socio-economic factors. Policy recommendations include fostering inclusive participation by addressing regional inequalities and leveraging existing networks to enhance economic connectivity.
