Abstract
Biogas systems have been introduced as a sustainable energy solution in urban slums of Cairo, Egypt. A qualitative study involving interviews with community leaders and focus group discussions with residents to assess system usage and perceptions. While biogas systems improved energy access in urban slums, they faced significant barriers to widespread adoption and sustainability. Investment strategies should prioritise community engagement and infrastructure development to support long-term system viability.
