Abstract

The study examines the political economy dynamics in Mozambique's natural resource extraction sector, with a focus on Central Africa. A comparative analysis of secondary data from various sources including government reports, academic journals, and international organizations. The proportion of foreign investment in Mozambican extractive industries has significantly increased over the past decade, with a notable theme of state-led privatization strategies. This study highlights the critical role of political leadership in shaping resource extraction policies and their economic implications for Mozambique. Policy recommendations include strengthening governance frameworks to ensure equitable distribution of benefits from extractive industries.
