Abstract
Mozambique is a developing country in southeastern Africa, characterized by significant socio-economic disparities and challenges such as high levels of poverty and limited infrastructure. A combination of qualitative interviews with key stakeholders and quantitative analysis using available economic data from government sources and international organizations. The analysis reveals a positive correlation between the development of basic infrastructure such as roads and electricity supply and FDI inflows into Mozambique, suggesting that improving these sectors could enhance FDI attractiveness. This study concludes that while Mozambique has made progress in certain areas, significant improvements are needed to attract more FDI, particularly in enhancing the quality and accessibility of basic infrastructure. The government should prioritise investments in critical infrastructure such as roads and electricity supply, alongside other socioeconomic measures like education and healthcare, to foster a conducive environment for FDI.
