Abstract

Youth employment programmes in Dakar, Senegal, aim to provide homeless adolescents with skills for sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurial training. A mixed-method approach combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews was employed to assess programme efficacy and participant outcomes in Dakar, Senegal. Participants demonstrated significant improvement in entrepreneurial knowledge (75% reported increased understanding) and skills development (60% showed enhanced competencies). The longitudinal analysis reveals a positive correlation between the programmes' support and participants' career trajectory advancement over time. Enhanced mentorship opportunities should be integrated into existing youth employment initiatives to further facilitate skill acquisition and professional integration.
