Abstract

This study examines the policy dynamics in business research within Cape Verde's African context. Qualitative data was collected through semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders from government bodies and academic institutions. Thematic analysis was employed to identify common themes and patterns in responses. A notable finding is the significant proportion (45%) of respondents who reported challenges related to funding for research projects, which hinders innovation and dissemination of knowledge. The study concludes that while there are policy frameworks supporting business research, their effectiveness varies due to resource constraints and bureaucratic inefficiencies. Recommendations include enhancing collaboration between academia and government bodies, increasing financial support for research, and improving the regulatory environment to facilitate smoother implementation of policies.
