Abstract

Urban development in Dakar, Senegal faces challenges related to environmental sustainability. Community-led projects have emerged as a promising approach to address these issues, yet their efficacy and frameworks remain underexplored. A qualitative analysis of existing literature and case studies was employed to construct this theoretical model. The methodology involved systematic review and thematic synthesis of relevant research papers and project reports. This framework provides a comprehensive structure for understanding and enhancing the effectiveness of environmental sustainability initiatives within urban community development projects. Policy makers should prioritise project design that includes stakeholder involvement, clear communication channels, and long-term planning to ensure sustainable outcomes.
