Preventive HIV/AIDS Education Curriculum and Adolescent Risk Behaviors in Mozambique Townships,

Abstract
Preventive HIV/AIDS education in Mozambique townships has been a focal point for public health initiatives aimed at reducing adolescent risk behaviors associated with HIV transmission. A qualitative approach was employed through focus group discussions and interviews among adolescents aged 15-18 years, supplemented by secondary data analysis from existing health surveys. Preventive HIV/AIDS education curricula are effective in altering adolescent risk behaviors, particularly in reducing unprotected sex and increasing condom usage. However, sustained engagement and community support remain crucial for long-term impact. Public health programmes should integrate preventive HIV/AIDS curricula with community-based initiatives to enhance student participation and adherence to recommended protective measures.
