Abstract

The Lagos Metropolitan Area (LMA) is a significant economic hub in Nigeria, with a burgeoning youth population seeking employment opportunities. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including quantitative data from government records and qualitative insights through focus group discussions and interviews with stakeholders. There was a notable increase of 25% in employment rates among participants who completed vocational training programmes compared to those who did not. Vocational training significantly improves youth employability, though disparities exist across different sectors and regions within LMA. Strengthen partnerships between government agencies, private sector employers, and educational institutions to provide more comprehensive support for vocational training programmes.
