Abstract

Water scarcity is a critical issue in Tunisia's Nile Basin, posing significant challenges to agricultural productivity, environmental sustainability, and social stability. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews to gather insights from farmers, local authorities, and environmental experts. Survey results indicate that over 70% of respondents perceive current water management as inadequate, highlighting the need for improved governance and stakeholder engagement in conflict resolution efforts. The findings underscore the urgent need for collaborative approaches to address water scarcity issues in the region, emphasising the importance of public participation in decision-making processes. Developing a comprehensive water management framework that prioritizes equitable distribution and sustainable practices is recommended. Enhanced stakeholder collaboration should also be encouraged.
