Senegal has experienced multiple constitutional reviews aimed at consolidating its democratic institutions since gaining independence in . A qualitative approach was employed, focusing on legislative documents, court decisions, and expert commentary to evaluate the effectiveness of recent reviews in enhancing democratic governance. Recent constitutional reviews have resulted in significant changes, with a notable increase in judicial oversight mechanisms aimed at preventing executive overreach. While progress has been made, ongoing challenges related to political polarization and corruption continue to hinder full democratic consolidation. Further legal reforms focusing on strengthening electoral integrity and enhancing the independence of the judiciary are recommended.
