Abstract

Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) is a policy tool aimed at addressing gender inequalities and promoting economic growth through improved financial transparency in public spending. Qualitative research methods were employed, including interviews with government officials, analysis of budget documents, and observations at municipal offices. GRB led to a significant increase in the disclosure of gender-specific expenditure data by 45% across all municipalities studied. The findings suggest that GRB can enhance financial transparency and contribute positively to economic growth when implemented effectively. Municipal governments should continue to implement GRB with regular training for budget officers and public engagement initiatives.
