Abstract

Urban slums in Egypt often face significant challenges accessing justice due to socio-economic disparities. A mixed-method survey approach including structured questionnaires and focus group discussions with residents and local legal aid organizations. Residents reported frequent delays in court proceedings and inadequate government support services, particularly affecting women and children. Despite limited resources, there is a growing demand for accessible justice solutions tailored to urban slum populations. Development of targeted legal education programmes and partnerships between NGOs and governmental bodies are recommended.
