Abstract

This study examines community-driven drought mitigation strategies among smallholder farmers in south-western Ethiopia. Community surveys and participatory workshops were conducted to gather insights from local stakeholders. A significant proportion (78%) of farmers reported improved water management practices as a result of community-driven initiatives. The community-driven strategies have significantly enhanced the resilience of smallholder farmers against drought in the region. Policy recommendations include bolstering community engagement and providing financial support for infrastructure development.
