Abstract

Gender justice and legal empowerment are critical issues in rural Nigerian environments where women often face significant barriers to accessing legal services. This theoretical article will employ qualitative research methods including literature review and thematic analysis to explore existing frameworks related to gender justice and legal empowerment. The theoretical framework developed highlights the necessity of integrating gender-specific strategies into legal empowerment programmes aimed at improving outcomes for rural Nigerian women. Recommendations include developing culturally tailored support services and enhancing community engagement to facilitate better access to justice for women in rural Nigeria.
