Research and Policy Implications in Burundi: A Survey Analysis

The legal landscape in Burundi is complex and evolving, with significant policy implications for various aspects of society. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including a quantitative survey among legal professionals and qualitative interviews with community leaders to gather comprehensive insights. The survey revealed that approximately 45% of respondents felt the existing family law framework did not adequately address social realities in Burundi, highlighting gaps in policy implementation. While the current legal system in place is acknowledged for its foundational aspects, it falls short in addressing contemporary societal needs and challenges. Policymakers are encouraged to integrate more culturally sensitive elements into family law policies and consider expanding social support services.
