Abstract
Nigeria’s environmental laws are designed to regulate corporate activities but enforcement remains inadequate. A qualitative review of existing Nigerian legal documents related to environmental law and corporate accountability. Corporate entities often operate with limited oversight, particularly regarding stringent environmental standards. There is a need for more robust enforcement mechanisms to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Introduce mandatory environmental audits by corporations, enhance penalties for non-compliance, and strengthen enforcement agencies' capabilities.
