Abstract

This study examines the policy dynamics in legal research within African contexts, focusing on Niger's legal system as a case study. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilising secondary data sources including government reports, academic articles, and interviews with legal experts to analyse the influence of law on policymaking in Niger. The findings indicate that there is a significant correlation between the enactment of new laws and changes in policy direction within governmental sectors such as education and healthcare. Specifically, there has been an increase in legislation aimed at improving access to basic services. This study concludes that legal research plays a crucial role in shaping public policies in Niger, particularly in areas critical for societal development. Given the importance of legal research in policy formulation, it is recommended that policymakers and legal scholars collaborate more closely to ensure that laws are both effective and relevant to current needs.
