This commentary explores gender justice and legal empowerment for women in rural Cameroon, focusing on the intersection of law, social, and political factors. A mixed-methods approach combining legal research with interviews and focus groups to understand the lived experiences of rural women and assess existing legal frameworks. The findings underscore the urgent need for legislative reforms and social interventions aimed at fostering greater inclusivity and equality among rural communities. Recommendations include strengthening women's legal rights to land and inheritance, promoting gender-sensitive policies in local governance structures, and increasing community awareness campaigns about women’s rights.
