Constitutional Review and Democratic Consolidation in Ghana: A Comparative Analysis

Abstract

Ghana's constitutional review process has been a focal point for understanding democratic consolidation in Africa. The analysis employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating qualitative textual data from the constitutional document and quantitative thematic coding of public opinion surveys conducted post-review. The constitutional review process has facilitated enhanced citizen engagement and policy alignment with democratic principles. Future reviews should prioritise ongoing public consultation mechanisms to ensure broader representation of societal interests.
