Abstract
Human rights violations in Guinea's resource extraction projects have raised concerns among international organizations and local communities. A socio-legal framework will be employed to examine existing laws and regulations governing resource extraction in Guinea, alongside qualitative interviews with affected communities and legal experts. Interviews revealed that indigenous populations experienced significant displacement due to infrastructure development near resource sites, affecting their traditional livelihoods and cultural practices. Resource extraction projects have disproportionately impacted vulnerable groups, leading to human rights abuses including land confiscation, forced labour, and environmental degradation. Implement comprehensive grievance mechanisms for affected communities, enforce stringent compliance with international human rights standards, and increase transparency in project planning and implementation processes.
