Abstract

Traditional dispute resolution mechanisms have played a significant role in accessing justice in Angola's legal landscape, particularly within rural and indigenous communities. The study employs a qualitative approach, analysing existing literature on traditional dispute resolution mechanisms and legal practices in Angola, alongside interviews with local community leaders. The theoretical framework underscores the potential benefits and challenges associated with integrating traditional dispute resolution methods into modern justice systems in Angola. Future research should focus on developing a hybrid model that combines both traditional and formal legal processes to ensure equitable access to justice for all Angolan citizens, including marginalized groups.
