Abstract

Urban slums in Kenya often house vulnerable populations who face significant barriers to accessing justice through formal legal channels. A qualitative analysis will be employed to explore existing literature and stakeholder perspectives on legal access in urban slums, with an emphasis on marginalized communities. The theoretical framework highlights systemic issues and proposes strategies for improving access to justice for urban slum dwellers. Policy recommendations include enhancing community-based legal aid services and promoting integration of legal support into existing social welfare programmes.
