Abstract

The efficiency of community health centers (CHCs) in Tanzania has been a subject of interest for improving healthcare access and outcomes. A multilevel regression model was employed to analyse data from CHCs across Tanzania, accounting for both individual and contextual influences. The multilevel model revealed that infrastructure investment significantly improved health outcomes (effect \(size = 0\).35, p < 0.01), indicating substantial efficiency gains. This study underscores the importance of targeted investments to optimise CHC performance and recommends further policy interventions based on empirical evidence. Enhanced funding for infrastructure maintenance and training programmes are recommended to sustain and improve service delivery quality in CHCs.
