Abstract

Urban life in Zambia is characterized by rapid development and transformation, reflecting broader trends in African societies. Contemporary literature often grapples with these changes, offering nuanced insights into urban experiences. The theoretical development will draw from existing literature on African studies, literary analysis, and urban sociology. A thematic approach will be employed to identify common narrative threads across selected works. This theoretical framework provides a robust foundation for understanding how literature can serve as both a mirror and a catalyst for contemporary urban experiences in Zambia. Further research should integrate empirical studies with this theoretical model to validate its predictive power and applicability across diverse contexts.
