Community Radio Platforms and Legal Access in Ghana's Northern Regions: A Commentary

Abstract
Community radio platforms have emerged as a significant component in Ghana's media landscape, particularly in rural and northern regions where access to legal aid is often limited. This commentary employs a qualitative approach, drawing from interviews conducted with community radio hosts, listeners, and legal practitioners within the region. While community radio has expanded access to legal information and services, ongoing efforts are needed to enhance its effectiveness and sustainability. Government bodies should consider providing more resources and training for community radio stations to improve their reach and impact on legal aid provision. Partnerships with legal institutions could also be strengthened to bridge the gap between broadcast content and practical assistance.
