Abstract

Entrepreneurship ecosystems and innovation hubs are crucial for fostering economic growth in developing countries such as those in East Africa. A qualitative study employing semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders including entrepreneurs, policymakers, and academic experts to understand their perceptions and experiences. Findings indicate that while Mauritius has made significant strides in establishing robust entrepreneurship ecosystems and innovation hubs, there is still room for improvement in terms of collaboration between public and private sectors. The study underscores the importance of fostering stronger partnerships to enhance the effectiveness of these systems. Strengthening collaborations between educational institutions and industry bodies could significantly boost the impact of entrepreneurship ecosystems and innovation hubs.
