Abstract

Community-based HIV/AIDS treatment programmes have become a cornerstone in addressing the epidemic among vulnerable populations in Kampala, Uganda. The study employed qualitative methods including focus group discussions and key informant interviews with healthcare providers and patients from to . A notable trend was the high retention rate of participants, averaging over 85% across all programmes, indicating effective care continuity strategies. Despite significant progress in care continuity, challenges remain regarding adherence and patient support mechanisms. Enhanced community engagement and integrated care models are recommended to improve long-term outcomes.
