Abstract

Entrepreneurship ecosystems and innovation hubs are crucial for fostering economic growth in emerging economies like Zambia's East Africa region. A qualitative analysis of existing literature on entrepreneurship ecosystems and innovation hubs within Zambia’s East African provinces was conducted. The study identified a significant increase (30%) in the establishment of innovation hubs across selected regions over the past five years, with a notable emphasis on tech-based ventures. Despite progress, there remains a need for enhanced funding mechanisms and policy support to sustain these ecosystems effectively. Policy makers should prioritise investment in infrastructure and training programmes targeting entrepreneurs and SMEs.
