Community-Based Maternal Healthcare Services in Addis Ababa City Centers: Three-Year Programme Evaluation
Abstract
This study examines the effectiveness of a community-based maternal healthcare programme in Addis Ababa city centers over three years. Data was collected through structured interviews with participants and analysis of routine health records. Statistical models were used to analyse trends in healthcare utilization and service effectiveness. The programme saw a significant increase in the utilization of antenatal care services, reaching 85% of eligible women compared to 70% before the intervention (95% confidence interval). Community-based maternal healthcare services significantly improved access and use of preventive health services among expectant mothers. Further expansion should focus on increasing service coverage in underserved areas and enhancing community engagement for sustained impact. Maternal Healthcare, Community-Based Services, Addis Ababa City Centers, Three-Year Evaluation Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
