Methodological Evaluation of Community Health Centre Systems in Rwanda: Quasi-Experimental Design to Measure Risk Reduction Efforts
Abstract
Community health centres (CHCs) are essential in rural Rwanda for providing primary healthcare services to underserved populations. A quasi-experimental design was employed, utilising statistical modelling techniques such as logistic regression to assess the impact of interventions designed by CHCs. The analysis revealed a significant decrease (p < 0.05) in malaria incidence rates among children under five years old after implementing preventive measures, highlighting the effectiveness of CHC systems in reducing health risks. This study underscores the importance of robust community healthcare infrastructure and effective risk mitigation strategies in improving public health outcomes. Further research should focus on scalability and sustainability of these interventions across different regions to ensure broader impact. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
