Abstract

Religious pluralism in Cape Verdean society is an understudied yet significant aspect of West African cultural dynamics. A survey research approach was employed to gather data from a stratified sample of Cape Verdeans across various regions. Questionnaires were distributed online and through face-to-face interviews. The survey revealed that approximately 45% of respondents identified with more than one religion, highlighting the complex inter-religious dynamics in Cape Verdean communities. This research underscores the importance of understanding religious pluralism to foster inclusive social environments and reduce potential conflicts. Policy-makers should consider promoting inter-faith dialogue initiatives that respect diversity and encourage mutual understanding within Cape Verdean society.
