Methodological Assessment and Quasi-Experimental Evaluation of Emergency Care Unit Systems in Ethiopian Healthcare Settings,

Emergency care units in Ethiopian healthcare settings are essential for managing acute medical emergencies efficiently. A mixed-methods approach incorporating quantitative data collection via standardised patient outcome assessments and qualitative interviews to gather insights into the operational effectiveness and user satisfaction of emergency units. In one study site, there was an observed 20% reduction in hospital readmission rates among patients who received timely and appropriate care compared to a control group (95% CI: -18.5%, -23.6%). The quasi-experimental design demonstrated significant improvements in clinical outcomes following the implementation of standardised emergency care protocols. Further research is recommended to validate these findings and explore additional areas for improvement, such as staff training and resource allocation. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
