Abstract

Urban primary healthcare facilities in Ghana have been exploring digital health record systems as a means to improve patient management and operational efficiency. The study utilised qualitative research methods including semi-structured interviews and document reviews to explore the experiences of facility staff and patients. Initial findings suggest that while there was significant interest in adopting digital health records, technical difficulties and resistance from older staff hindered full implementation. Despite early enthusiasm, a nuanced understanding is needed for effective adoption strategies moving forward. Facilities should prioritise training programmes to address the skills gap and introduce incentives to encourage staff participation. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
